Good Neighbor Grants

Attention Parents - If you are employed by State Farm and you have not yet committed your $500 Good Neighbor Grant to another worthwhile charitable organization, please consider naming the U-High Softball program as a recipient of at least part of the valuable grant.

We have numerous volunteer options available, starting this fall with equipment inventory and uniform repair. Any money that we raise will go toward the purchase of a new pitching machine. Additionally, we should be in line to apply for matching funds for the Booster Club in order to reach our goal. Any additional money we raise will go toward the purchase of new uniforms for the 2011 season.

Thanks for your consideration in this matter - Coach Sondgeroth

IHSA Changes Pitching Distance for 2010 Season

Please check out articles in the Pantagraph on on the IHSA website (www.ihsa.org) regarding rule changes for the upcoming softball season. Most notable is their decision to move the pitching rubber from 40 ft back to 43 ft. Reasons sited were an increase in offense and safety of pitchers.
